Life at Adventure Camp

Where will I live?

Most Adventure Camp staff members share sleeping quarters with our campers. You can expect to be assigned to either a cabin or a yurt village. Cabins offer bunk beds, electricity, and full bathrooms. Our new yurts, set in a beautiful stand of pines, are canvas structures with screened windows, skylights, and a freestanding bathhouse. An important part of your responsibility as an Adventure Camp staff member will be to supervise campers and foster a positive community in the living quarters.

Where will I eat?

Adventure Camp has a great kitchen staff that prepares family style and buffet meals for campers and staff. There are plenty of vegetarian options, and we offer a salad bar every day. All Adventure Camp staff and campers eat together in our large dining hall, continuing to build a positive community.

What will my day be like?

Here’s a sample schedule for a typical day at Adventure Camp:

7:00 a.m.	Wake up, cabin clean up
8:00 a.m.	Breakfast and community time
9:00 a.m.	Morning group activity (such as trip planning or a ropes course)
Afternoon
Noon	Lunch
1:00 p.m.	Siesta
2:00 p.m.	Afternoon group activity (such as rock-climbing or gear packing)
5:00 p.m.	Free time
Evening
6:00 p.m.	Dinner time
7:00 p.m.	Evening activity (such as an all-camp game of capture the flag, a campfire, or arts and crafts)
9:00 p.m.	Bedtime, break down
9:30 p.m.	Quiet time, lights out

Note: All staff members will have a break each day, as well as
some days off during the summer.
