Greetings, Parents!

Doug SutherlandCamp is a place where children can have fun in the out-of-doors. It should also be a place where they can challenge themselves, make new friends, and expand their horizons. Every summer at Adventure Camp, we strive to create a supportive, growth-oriented community in which participants can encounter physical and emotional challenges in a safe, fun environment.

I have been a part of the Adventure Camp family for nine years, and I’ve worked with many different staff members and campers. I believe a successful camp experience requires the interaction of three core elements:

  • FUN: Singing songs, dance parties, the climb tower, cookouts—these are all part of the recipe for fun at Adventure Camp. But the main ingredient is the spirit of participation that comes from the campers themselves. We foster an inclusive, positive environment in which each individual is empowered to contribute to the atmosphere of fun. And if a camper’s goals include having a good time, meeting new people, and trying new things, Adventure Camp is the place to be.
  • SAFETY: The well-being of each camper is paramount at Adventure Camp. Campers learn important safety techniques, and must wear protective gear and helmets when engaging in activities such as ropes courses, kayaking, mountain biking, and rock climbing. All of our adventure equipment is inspected routinely.
  • CHALLENGE: Being away from home for the first time, climbing on a ropes course, canoeing, teamwork— camp is full of challenges. We provide caring support and encouragement as each camper discovers his or her potential, explores new frontiers, and develops valuable skills.

Our name says it all: Adventure. Each year, we provide new and exciting outdoor opportunities for campers. Our programs encompass many types of challenges, ensuring that each camper is able to find an experience that suits his or her level. And because our programs are designed to build upon one another, returning campers are able to try new adventures and further their personal growth—year after year.

This summer we are offering some longtime favorites, but we’re also expanding our wilderness living programs, continuing our commitment to community service, and responding to growth in our Counselors-in-Training program with a new Leaders-in-Training opportunity.

Of course, Adventure Camp is accredited by the American Camp Association, a leader in the field of youth camping. We do our utmost to provide an amazing camp experience for children. We look forward to introducing new campers to our community and welcoming back returning campers for an awesome time at Adventure Camp.
