Counselors-in-Training

Age 17 | On-site:
Counselors-in-TrainingThis special four-week program is designed for 17 year-olds who want to become Adventure Camp counselors. Workshops and hands-on experience will develop your skills in group leadership, program planning and communication, working with kids, health and safety, creating a positive cabin community, and facilitating adventure teambuilding. Gain expertise in a special interest area such as high ropes, climbing tower, mountain biking, or waterfront; acquire trip leadership experience by planning—and taking part in—a special CIT trip; and practice camp leadership roles by designing and leading various evening activities and special events. Your schedule will include time to work directly with younger campers in activities and cabins under staff supervision, and to relax with other CITs. Being a CIT is a unique experience—you'll grow as a leader and a positive role model, explore what it takes to be a counselor, and have plenty of fun. In order to provide a strong program, we accept only a limited number of CITs. Potential CITs must complete an application form, provide three references, and have an interview. Applications are due by March 7, 2008. If accepted, CITs must then fill out a registration form and submit payment. Those who successfully complete the program may apply for a full staff position for the summer of 2009. Questions? Please contact us or call 603-525-3311.
