Tech, Drugs, and Rock n’ Roll, OTD’s 1st annual networking event, was a great success! Over 500 entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, industry professionals and BU students and faculty members were in attendance.
Flat-screen LCD-TV monitors showcased interactive presentations, videos, and research from BU Start-Up companies as well as the Coulter Foundation, Fraunhofer USA, BU Biomedical Engineering, the Photonics Center and Boston University’s Clinical and Translational Science Institute.

Guests grabbed drinks and catered barbeque food while they chatted with friends, collegeagues, and community members.
Michael Pratt, OTD Director of Business Development, opens the event with a few remarks.
Nijhawan spoke about his plans to expand technology and research at Boston University.
Boston University President Robert A. Brown spoke about the past, present, and future of research and technology at Boston University, then presented Mark Grinstaff, Boston University professor and researcher, with the 2010 Innovator of the Year Award. The Innovator of the Year Award was instituted to recognize a faculty member who has made great contributions to the field of

Nationally-recognized Joshua Tree Band played excellent U2 renditions late into the evening.
Guests relaxed outside on the Terrace Patio and enjoyed the warm summer evening.
