Welcome to an introduction of OTD's New Ventures group.  As stated above, our role is to support BU students, staff, and faculty with an interest in exploring entrepreneurial opportunities and launching new business ventures. 

Boston University offers a rich source of research, intellectual property, proprietary know-how, and novel methodologies.  These "assets" often have tremendous commercial value if appropriately evaluated and supported.  However, new venture creation can be confusing for those unfamiliar with the process.  This is where OTD's New Ventures group comes into play.  We are the BU resource that supports students, staff, and faculty in explaining their entrepreneurial options and assisting them in any and all actions they wish to pursue on the road to commercializing their ideas.  We work closely with the other groups within OTD, especially the Office of Technology Transfer to assure a consistent approach to the handling of intellectual property.  Through OTD's Corporate Business Development group we have the ability to assist emerging companies make introductions to more established corporation and explore potential partnership opportunities.

Our full range of support services has many individual components.  Working with budding entrepreneurs we have developed a customized approach to assist them in their business pursuits by leveraging some or all our support services.  See 10 Steps to Commercial Success.
