Michael Koeris, CEO, Novophage
Michael Koeris, Ph.D. is the founder of the HCEP Start-Up group along with Prof. Richard Egdahl. During his doctoral training, Mike trained under Jim Collins, focusing on network approaches to combat antibiotic-tolerant bacteria with the Howard Hughes Medical Institute in the Biomedical Engineering Department at Boston University.  For his undergraduate degree, Mike graduated second in his class with a B.S. and M.S. in Biochemistry from the Free University of Berlin. He was also a recipient of the German Academic Exchange Fellowship at MIT.  In addition to his scientific work, Mike previously worked at McKinsey & Company and was an Entrepreneurial Fellow at Flagship Ventures. Currently, Mike is CEO of Novophage, a spin-out from BU and MIT that is developing green solutions to increase energy efficiency in industrial heating/cooling systems.
