Photonics Center

The Photonics Center identifies, develops and commercializes disruptive photonics technologies by joining commercial needs and technological advances within an entrepreneurial environment. The Photonics Center works with Boston University faculty to help them translate ideas into new products. In addition, they bring technologies originating elsewhere into the University for further development. Some of the resources at their disposal are an incubator facility and their own family of venture funds, Beacon Photonics.

BioSquare

BioSquare is Boston University’s research park. It is located on Albany Street, across from the Boston University Medical Campus. It combines state-of-the-art, build to suit facilities with a comprehensive list of tenant amenities within easy access of Boston’s major business, biomedical, and academic medical centers. It allows outstanding biomedical research companies and businesses the opportunity to work in tandem with leading principal investigators in their fields from the Boston University Schools of Medicine, Dental Medicine and Public Health.

BioSquare has recently opened the BioSquare Discovery and Innovation Center. This facility is located on the ground floor of the Evans Biomedical Research Center (650 Albany Street). BioSquare’s aims are (a) to grow companies that are based on Boston University research and (b) to bring onto campus companies carrying out exciting biomedical research whose technology originated elsewhere.
