PROGRAM: Cultural Anthropology Scholars Award
OBJECTIVES: This program provides funding to promote methodological training by cultural anthropologists who are active researchers. The purpose of this award is to help cultural anthropologists upgrade their methodological skills by learning a specific analytical technique that will improve their research abilities. For example, support may be requested to learn new methods of cross-cultural research, demography, remote sensing and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), ecological field survey, linguistics, etc.
DEADLINES: August 16, 2009; January 16, 2010
FUNDING INFORMATION: NSF anticipates making two awards at a level of up to $50,000 for up to twelve months. Budgets may include direct costs for either summer salary or one or more semesters of full-time academic year release time, per diem, travel, equipment, supplies and other costs of training, and applicable indirect costs.
