PROGRAM: Digging into Data Challenge
OBJECTIVES: This program provides funding to encourage innovative approaches to data-driven inquiry or cyberscholarship. The goal of this program is to focus the attention of the social science and humanities research communities on large-scale data analysis and its potential application to a wide range of scholarly resources.
This program hopes to promote the development and deployment of innovative research techniques in large-scale data analysis; promote international collaboration; foster interdisciplinary collaboration among scholars in the humanities, social sciences, computer sciences, information sciences, and other fields, around questions of text and data analysis; and work with data repositories that hold large digital collections to ensure efficient access to these materials for research.
Please note that each agency has also produced an RFP Addendum with information specific to that funder. Each agency will have different rules and requirements, depending on its mission and its policies and procedures. Before submission applicants should carefully read the NEH RFP as well as the RFP Addenda for any of the agencies to which the applicant wishes to apply. The RFP Addenda can be found at the Digging into Data website (http://www.diggingintodata.org/).
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: This competition is open only to international partnerships involving at least two of the three participating countries: Canada, England or Wales in the United Kingdom, and the United States.
