The NIH Commons may be accessed at: http://commons.era.nih.gov.

The Status Module allows PIs to review the status of applications sent to the NIH, including information about pending review, review outcome, pending Advisory Council action, and award status.

(1) Login to Commons at http://commons.era.nih.gov.

(2) Click on the Status tab.

(3) Enter information in one or more fields on the General Search Screen.

(4) Click the "Search" button.

(5) If search results are returned, click on the hyperlink under "Application ID" to access detailed information about the application or award.

(6) A PI can delegate to another registered Commons user the ability to check the status of a submitted grant application. Click on the "Administration" tab, the "Accounts" tab and finally the “Delegate Status” tab. From the list of Current Institution Users, select the desired user. Multiple users can be selected by pressing and holding the Ctrl key and clicking all the desired names. Click Assign. Click Save to confirm the delegation. A confirmation email is sent to the selected delegate/s and to the email address registered with your account.
