Apartment Styles and Rents
(Please note the following descriptions do not include 580 Commonwealth Avenue or Harrison Court. Please see their respective pages for descriptions.)
We have 5 types of apartments available on the Charles River Campus. Please note that rents are based on prevailing local rental market rates and are subject to change without notice:
- Rooms- are located in rooming houses and are all furnished. We do not rent rooms unfurnished. Rooms are the least expensive and smallest in size of all the apartments in our inventory. They vary in size and rent as do all our apartments. Rooms are for single occupancy only. Since they are the least expensive in our inventory they tend to rent quickly when they become available. Furnishings include, in most cases; a twin bed, dresser, desk, chair, and lamp. Rooms are rented as seen. Furniture substitutions are not permitted. Kitchens and bathroom facilities are shared with other residents. Room suites are not gender specific. Room rents start at $665 per month and escalate according to size, location, and amenities. In most cases, heat, hot water, and electricity are included in the monthly rent. Rooms are located at 90 St. Mary’s Street, 850 Beacon Street and 183 Bay State Road only.
- Studios – are self-contained one-room apartments which included private kitchen and bathroom facilities. The majority of studio apartments are leased unfurnished however we do have a very limited number of furnished studios. No furniture substitutions are permitted. All furnished studio apartments are located at 14 Buswell Street (Warren Hall). Kitchens included stove, oven, and refrigerators. Size and rents will vary. All rents are structured upon size, location, and prevailing rental market conditions. Studio rents start at $1,150 per month and escalate according to size, location, and amenities. In most cases, heat and hot water are included in the monthly rent.
- One bedrooms – are generally larger than studios and include private kitchen and bathroom along with a separate bedroom. The majority of one bedroom apartments are leased unfurnished however we do have a very limited number of furnished one bedrooms and no furniture substituations are permitted. All furnished one bedroom apartments are located at 14 Buswell Street (Warren Hall). Kitchens included stove, oven, and refrigerator. Rents are structured upon size, location, and prevailing rental market conditions. One bedroom rents start at $1,275 per month and escalate according to size, location, and amenities. In most cases, heat and hot water are included in the monthly rent.
- Two bedrooms- are larger than most one bedroom and included a single kitchen and bathroom with two separate bedrooms. The two bedrooms apartments are all leased unfurnished. Kitchens include stove, oven, and refrigerator. Rents are structured upon size, location, and prevailing rental market conditions. Two bedroom rents start at $1,900 per month and escalate according to size, location, and amenities. In most cases, heat and hot water are included in the monthly rent.
- Three bedrooms- are extremely limited. Three bedrooms are rented unfurnished. Rents are structured according to size, location, and prevailing rental market conditions. Three bedrooms rents start at $2,600 per month and escalate according to size, location, and amenities. In most cases, heat and hot water are included in the monthly rent.
If you wish to rent an apartment unfurnished and require furniture you may lease furniture from a private provider. American Furniture Company can provide specially priced student packages as well as other various furniture leasing packages.
If you require a roommate, it is your responsibility to locate a suitable roommate. Our office does not provide roommate matching services nor do we resolve roommate disputes.
All apartments other than 580 Commonwealth Avenue and Harrison Court must be viewed by yourself or someone on your behalf prior to leasing. Please contact us by telephone at (617) 353-4101 with any questions or to schedule an appointment.
