Rental Property Management (ORPM)

Welcome to the Boston University Office of Rental Property Management (ORPM).  Our office leases, manages and maintains residential apartments, a limited number of parking spaces, and commercial property owned by Boston University.

Residential apartments are leased to full time Boston University graduate students, faculty and staff only.  Parking spaces are leased to Office of Rental Property Management tenants only.  For information regarding our commercial property, please visit our Commercial Property page.

Our inventory of residential apartments is extensive and diverse.  We offer rooms, studios, one bedrooms, two bedrooms and a very limited number of three bedroom apartments.  Please note apartment availability is not guaranteed at any time.  Most apartments are required to be viewed in advance of leasing by the prospective tenant or by a representative of the prospective tenant.  The only exceptions to this policy are 580 Commonwealth Avenue and Harrison Court.  Most apartments are leased on a first come first served basis with the exception of 580 Commonwealth Avenue and Harrison Court.  There is a waitlist for these two buildings and it is suggested that you complete and submit applications to be placed on the respective waitlists.  (Please check eligibility requirements at each location)

Due to the diversity of our buildings, utilities vary from building to building.  Be sure to inquire which utilities are included in the rent and what utilities will be your responsibility should you decide to lease an apartment with us.  Most but not all of our apartments include the heat and hot water.

Advantages to leasing an apartment through the Boston University Office of Rental Property Management include:

  • Low initial move in costs
  • All apartments owned, managed and maintained by Boston University
  • Most apartments are located within a ten minute walk to most Charles River Campus facilities
  • A limited number of furnished apartments are offered
  • Security services provided by the Boston University Police Department
  • 24 hour emergency maintenance services
  • Superintendents on duty evening and weekends
  • NO BROKER’S FEE REQUIRED!

Most apartments are leased first come first served basis and typically require a 12 month lease.

Please note that we do not operate as a typical university housing office. We are a property management office. We do not offer dormitories. The Boston University Office of Housing handles all undergraduate student housing and dormitories.

Please contact us at (617) 353-4101 for more information or to schedule an appointment to view apartments.  Our office is open Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm.
