Frequently Asked Questions:

Do I have to attend University Orientation?
Attendance for all incoming freshmen is mandatory. University Orientation ensures that you are properly registered for classes.

Do I have an advantage if I attend an earlier session?
No. The Science and Engineering Program students who attend Session #6 have similar registration choices as those who attend Session #2.

How do I register for University Orientation?
Once you have paid your deposit, you will be eligible to register for University Orientation at www.bu.edu/orientation in late April.

Is there a Parent Program?
Parent Orientation runs concurrently with University Orientation. We strongly encourage parents to attend. Approximately three-fourths of freshmen parents attend Parent Orientation.

Is on-campus housing available during University Orientation?
Students are required to stay on campus Thursday night. Additional nights are available by request for Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. There are a limited number of rooms available for participating parents Tuesday through Saturday. This is a good opportunity for parents to experience campus life.
