Based on Dr. Howard Thurman’s belief that we have more in common with each other than we realize, the Common Ground program is an exciting way to kick off your Boston University Orientation session. Join other incoming students, have meaningful intellectual discussions and explore the city of Boston!
Knowing your experience at Boston University will give you a lot of access to information and people, you will have the opportunity to have candid conversations about your social responsibility to the world around you, and to yourself.
Using GPS devices, you will navigate the city, hop on the T, solve riddles, and face challenges as you explore the culture and history of Boston and get to know your new classmates. This is an interactive adventure that could take you to the Boston Common, the Old North Church, the New England Aquarium, or Quincy Market. You may not know where you’re headed when you depart, but by the time you return you will have a better idea of how to get around the city that will be your new home.
The program begins at 1 p.m. and runs approximately 6 hours. Be sure to wear comfortable walking shoes and dress appropriately for the weather! This program includes lunch, snacks and transportation.
