Writing Placement Exam
Students who were required to submit English-language proficiency test scores such as TOEFL scores as part of their applications for admission will be placed into WR 097, WR 098, or WR 100 based on their performance on a placement test developed by the Writing Program. This test will be administered on January 21st at 4 p.m. (location to be determined).
Students coming from the CELOP program have a separate group test scheduled for December and should plan on taking that exam, not the one in January. Students who cannot attend the January 21st session may request an individual makeup test session by completing the test request form at http://www.bu.edu/writingprogram/writing-program-curriculum/placement/. We recognize that there may be some students who were not required to submit TOEFL or equivalent test scores but whose primary language is not English. Any such student may request a placement assessment from the Writing Program by completing the test request form as well. Anyone who intends to take a WR class in the spring should schedule a placement test by January 23rd.
