Schedule Conflicts
+I need to receive my Lab Safety Training before the next regularly scheduled session - what should I do?
View the upcoming Lab Safety Training Schedule. If those dates do not fit your schedule, contact us and we will work with you to provide you the training you need in a timely fashion.
You can also take the Lab Safety Training online. If you do not already have a RIMS Training account then you can Register for RIMS. Then you can log into RIMS and take the online training courses.
+I can't make it to the next training that I'm scheduled to attend - what should I do?
If you can’t make it, please cancel the session you are unable to attend, register for another session that works better for you and if need be, contact us.
Registration Problems
+I'm having trouble registering for a class - what should I do?
Please contact us and we’ll help you get registered. If you need a RIMS Training Profile so that you may take the Blackboard Vista Online Laboratory Safety Training courses, please Register for RIMS.

Training Records Inquiry
+How can I find my training records?
Online records are currently located in RIMS. RIMS will contain your research-related training records. Please allow 24 hours for your training records to appear on the RIMS training profile. They are also located on BUMC Training Records Self-Check If you cannot find your records online, please email EHS for assistance with EHS records, and the LASC for assistance with LASC records.
General Assistance
+I'm new at Boston University - what training do I need?
Anyone working in or around a laboratory must take Laboratory Safety Training . For other training, we recommend you talk with your PI and Lab Safety Coordinator to help you get started. Additionally, be sure to review all the applicable headings on this website – see the headings to the right on this page.
+What trainings do I need to begin work with animals?
To find the training courses you need to start working with animals, visit the Animal Care Training site and click on the appropriate campus.
+I would like to arrange for a compliance- or safety-related training for my team - who should I call?
For tailored trainings specific to your group, contact us and we will work with you.
