The Scientific Diving & Small Boat Safety Committee (SD-SBSC) at Boston University oversees diving and boating performed as a necessary component of research or educational activity by faculty, students, and other employees involved in research.

Training applies for both BUMC and CRC.

Location: Lectures at Charles River Campus; open water and/or pool locations TBD

Audience: Students, faculty, and staff who wish to use scientific diving as a tool for their research

Duration: Course varies depending on schedule flexibility between instructor and student.

When Offered: Upon request

Teaching Medium: Hands-on training consisting of pool sessions and diving in open water with some lecture.

Prerequisite: Certification as an open water diver by one of the following dive agencies: NAUI, PADI, SSI
