Boston University, in response to NSF Requirements, adopted the BU RCR Plan in May 2010. The Plan covers RCR Responsibilities of Principal Investigators (PI) on both NIH and NSF-RCR Covered Awards. The Plan assigns responsibility to PIs for assuring that RCR Covered Individuals participate in and complete RCR instruction.
NIH Pre-Award Guidance for PIs on Covered Awards
PIs on NIH Covered Awards are required to submit a RCR Training Plan with their proposal. (The NSF does not require PIs to submit RCR Training Plans, but rather requires the institution to have a Plan. See above).
The Office of Research Compliance has developed pre-award guidance documents to assist NIH PIs with RCR Training Plans in their NIH training grant proposals.
