Committees & Office

Boston University has two Advisory Committees on Research Conflicts of Interest. These Committees meet once a month to review “Yes” disclosures submitted by investigators which indicate that they (or their spouse or dependent children) have significant financial interests that could reasonably appear to affect their research. The CRC committee reviews disclosures from investigators on the Charles River Campus and the BUMC committee reviews disclosures from investigators on the medical campus and Boston Medical Center.

Each Committee advises the the Associate Vice President for Research Compliance (who received decision-making authority from the University Provost,  the Medical Campus Provost, and the President of BMC) as to whether a conflict of interest exists and, if so, what restrictions or conditions should be imposed to eliminate, reduce, or manage the conflict.
