The Boston University Online Graduate Certificate in Asian Religions and Healing (ARH) is designed to provide students and professionals in the fields of religion and medicine with an advanced understanding of the roots and applications of Asian healing traditions.
Students who complete this online certificate will gain a comprehensive knowledge of eastern concepts of holistic health and healing. Students will learn the cultural and historical background behind practices like yoga and meditation, as well as the physiological effects of these practices. Ultimately, the goals of this program are both personal and professional: a renewed mindfulness and an increase in the potential for knowledge and communication between medical, religious, and spiritual groups.
The ARH certificate program consists of four online courses that explore:
Each online course features online lectures, video clips, audio instructions and required readings from textbooks. All four courses are taught by Professor Livia Kohn, a professor of Asian religions for over twenty years. Courses integrate academic knowledge with practical experience and can be taken either individually or as a series to earn a graduate certificate.
