This MS specialization in Business Continuity, Security & Risk Management builds on four-course curriculum of the Boston University Online Graduate Certificate in Risk Management & Organizational Continuity).
Designed to provide the tools and concepts necessary to plan for, prevent, and—when needed—successfully respond to disruptions in business operations, this concentration provides a review of important issues relating to business continuity, security, information and materials management, as well as risk management from a planning, operations, and response perspective. Topics presented include incident response and disaster recovery, compliance issues, and systemwide risk analysis. Business continuity is viewed organizationally to include all company operations, and addresses information, computer systems, infrastructure, personnel, and supply chain, as well as emergencies emanating from man-made and natural disasters.
Students must complete the six MS in (Specialty) Management core courses in addition to the four Business Continuity, Security & Risk Management specialization courses, and two degree electives.
Students who have already earned the Risk Management & Organizational Continuity certificate may transfer their credits directly to the MS in Business Continuity, Security & Risk Management, earning the master’s degree by completing just the six core courses and two degree electives.
