The Office of Institutional Research (OIR) produces a variety of reports and data that enables informed and strategic decision-making initiatives in the University community. OIR provides informational tools for peer schools and government agencies, and makes publication resources available to prospective students.
- Benefits to the City of Boston Report - Each year, OIR submits a report detailing the benefits contributed by Boston University to the City of Boston. Data in this report spans from 1981 through the most recently completed fiscal year. For more information about the Benefits report, please contact Laura Collins.
- Common Data Set - The Common Data Set provides a compilation of key University data, including admission and enrollment information, annual expenses and financial data, faculty counts, and other general information. The Common Data Set is maintained by Kenneth MacKenzie.

- Data Requests - OIR is a repository of historic, current, and projected data for Boston University. Peer data, including enrollment and graduation statistics, financial data, national rankings, and other key information is also available. - Economic and Social Impact Study - A yearly sourcebook is produced by OIR which presents Boston University's "impact" on the Massachusetts economy, including direct and indirect spending measures. For more information on this study, please contact Laura Collins.
