Michael B. Rosen

Michael Rosen joined OGC in January 1980 and provides advice principally in the areas of faculty matters, student affairs, academic affairs, employment, labor relations, campus police and security, discrimination, and overseas programs.  Mr. Rosen has been intimately involved with and serves as legal counsel to the Chelsea Project, a program involving the University’s oversight and operation of the public school system of the City of Chelsea, Massachusetts.  He also is an Adjunct Professor at the University’s School of Education and School of Law, and has served as Acting Associate Provost of the University.  Before becoming a lawyer at Boston University, Mr. Rosen was counsel to the Chancellor and Director of the Law Office of the Board of Education of the City of New York, an Assistant Managing Attorney with MFY Legal Services, Inc. in New York City, and taught at St. John’s University, New York Law School, and New York University Law School.  Mr. Rosen received his A.B. from Oberlin College in 1962, a M.A. from the University of Michigan in 1963, and then his law degree from New York University School of Law in 1967, where he was a Field Fellow in Social Welfare Law. He also is a past Chair of the College and University Law Section of the Boston Bar Association.
