Erika Geetter has been a lawyer with OGC since July 1996 after several years as a lawyer with the Metropolitan Legal Department in Nashville, Tennessee. Her principal areas of practice at OGC include disability matters, employment, labor, immigration, faculty matters, student affairs, FERPA, discrimination, regulatory compliance, and litigation. Before Boston University and the Nashville Metropolitan Legal Department, Ms. Geetter was a lawyer with the Legal Services of Middle Tennessee in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Ms. Geetter graduated in 1985 summa cum laude with a B.A. from Yale University and received her J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School in 1989, where she was elected to the Order of the Coif. After law school, she was a Law Clerk to the Honorable Phyllis A. Kravitch of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit in Savannah, Georgia. She is a member of the Steering Committee and a past Co-Chair of the College and University Law Section of the Boston Bar Association.
