Provost of the Medical Campus
Karen H. Antman, BS, MD
The Provost of the Medical Campus is responsible for the operation of the Boston University Medical Campus; the University's role in the Boston Medical Center; and the health-related schools located on the Medical Campus.
Dean, School of Medicine
The BU School of Medicine offers a number of unique pathways for students to earn an MD degree, from a traditional four-year program to five-, seven-, and eight-year dual degree programs for students interested in research, public health, engineering, liberal arts, or business, in addition to medical practice. Students receive core training in both ambulatory and in-patient care at Boston Medical Center, our primary teaching hospital. Here they become part of the clinical team, gaining hands-on experience working with real patients starting in the first week of the first year’s curriculum. And, as a major research institution, students also have the opportunity to participate in many of the 600 funded programs and over 1,000 active clinical trials in our 640 laboratories.
