The College of Arts & Sciences and the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences together form Boston University’s largest and most central teaching and research enterprise, providing instruction in the liberal arts for all BU students. Arts & Sciences is home to 24 academic departments (23 of which offer major concentrations) and 33 research centers and institutes. Undergraduates choose from more than 2,500 courses in the humanities, natural and social sciences, and mathematics and computer science, pursuing BA degrees in more than 70 concentrations. Graduate students pursue MA and PhD degrees in nearly 50 fields of the humanities; the natural, social, and mathematical sciences; theology; and music.
