Don’t miss the upcoming Off-Campus Housing Fair, sponsored by the Office of Housing Resources on the Medical Campus! The fair is open to all members of the BU community.
Who we are and what we do:
Off-Campus Services maintains updated listings of available apartments and sublets in the greater Boston area. The service is free of charge to all Boston University students, faculty, staff, and alumni. Whether you are affiliated with the Charles River Campus or BU’s Medical Campus, you are welcome to browse our listing of off-campus property or advertise your own apartment for rent. In addition to postings, you will find information about tenant rights and responsibilities, neighborhood descriptions, definitions of common rental terms, considerations before signing a lease, and other resources to help with your housing search. We are here to assist so please do not hesitate to contact us if you need advice about living off campus.
Note: Boston University does not own, inspect, endorse, or recommend any specific unit listed with this service. Furthermore, we do not contact or intercede with landlords, realtors, or roommates on behalf of any member of the BU community. But we can point you in the right direction if you are experiencing any difficulties living off-campus.
How Do I Search The Listings?
Access to the apartment listings is restricted to the Boston University community. Please click here for instructions.
**The City of Boston’s Zoning Code prohibits 5 or more undergraduate students from living together in the same dwelling. As you search our listings for Boston, please be aware that any units with 5 or more bedrooms should not be comprised solely of all undergraduate students. Exceeding the five-person limit in violation of the Boston Zoning Code could put your lease at risk and result in higher costs, especially if you or a roommate is forced to move out to bring the dwelling into compliance. For full details of this City Ordinance, please visit the Massachusetts Law Library resource page.
Do you have a visual impairment and need assistance posting or accessing our listings? Please call Off-Campus Services on 617-353-3523 and we would be happy to assist.
Whether you live on or off campus, please visit Boston University’s Fire Safety website for important safety information. Additionally, the National Fire Protection Association has generated this handy checklist of items to keep on hand.
