Your presentation has 2 components:

• A slide presentation
• A handout

Examples of the content and format for both are under course documents on course info.

Your slides are intended to serve as a guide for your oral presentation. Your handout is expected to be more comprehensive, but should be no longer than 3 pages.

Both should contain:

• Name of student presenter.
• Date of the presentation
• Initials of the patient being presented and the Hospital's medical record number.
• A focused history and physical, pertinent laboratory results, hospital course if an inpatient and management plan (follow-up if available).
• An evidence based discussion of management as supported by the literature.
• An integrated discussion of the case and the literature
• List of references reviewed, presented in the format of the New England Journal of Medicine.

The presentation should be 10 minutes. Your goal is to educate your collegues regarding diagnosis and management of this clinical problem.

You are expected to have your slides ready to present and copies of your hand out for your colleagues and preceptors when you are scheduled to present.
