Neural Prosthesis Lab
Welcome to the Neural Prosthesis Laboratory in the Department of Speech, Language & Hearing Sciences at Boston University’s Sargent College of Health & Rehabilitation Sciences. The lab is directed by Professor Frank Guenther. Our research focuses on development of brain-machine interfaces to allow individuals with severe motor impairments to communicate and interact with the world. We employ a multi-disciplinary approach that seeks to incorporate aspects of neuroscience, computer science, and engineering with behavioral disciplines including speech, communication, vision and audition.
Our research is supported by the National Institutes of Health / National Institute on Deafness and other Communication Disorders (grants R03 DC011304, R01 DC002852, R01 DC007683) and by CELEST, an NSF Science of Learning Center (NSF OMA-0835976).
