Undergraduate Degree Programs

Metropolitan College admits individuals to its undergraduate degree programs either as beginning students or as transfer students from other accredited collegiate institutions. Qualified students may apply for September or January admission, and applications are accepted on a rolling basis. An interview with a Metropolitan College academic counselor is required of all candidates for admission to undergraduate degree programs. Please note that applicants to the online Undergraduate Degree Completion Program may apply for January, March, May, July, September, or November admission and are not required to interview with a counselor. Those interested in degree-granting programs are urged to discuss their educational objectives with an academic counselor as early as possible. Appointments may be made by calling 617-353-2980. Candidates for admission to the master’s degree programs are selected on the basis of transcripts of academic experience, academic and personal references, and interviews. In most cases, all forms, transcripts, and references should be received by Boston University in July for students who wish to be considered for September admission and in November for January admission. In some cases, candidates can also be accepted in May and begin their coursework in the summer term.

Online Programs

Metropolitan College, with the assistance of the Office of Distance Education, makes degree and certificate programs available worldwide through online delivery. These programs provide a unique degree of flexibility for students who maintain professional schedules or live in areas that would otherwise prevent them from pursuing higher education. Metropolitan College faculty actively participate in the development and administration of online programs, ensuring that online students have access to the same caliber of instruction and curriculum as on-campus students.

Online courses are typically delivered in seven-week sessions and are offered throughout the year. Online students pursue their coursework as part of small cohorts led by a group facilitator who coordinates discussion groups and provides academic support. All Metropolitan College online degree and certificate programs carry the full accreditation of on-campus programs at Boston University.

Graduate Military Programs

Metropolitan College offers degree programs at military facilities in North Carolina (Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point and Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune/Marine Air Corps Air Station New River), Virginia (Marine Corps Headquarters), and Massachusetts (Hanscom Air Force Base). A Master of Science in Business Administration and a Master of Science in Computer Information Systems are offered. Courses are open to military personnel, retirees, and their families as well as Department of Defense contractors.
