11th Annual Dudley Allen Sargent Lecture Today

besserDr. Richard E. Besser, Senior Health and Medical Editor for ABC News and former Acting Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will be the guest speaker at the 11th annual Dudley Allen Sargent Lecture at the College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences: Sargent College today.  The title of his lecture is “Pandemics, Public Health, and Political Transition.”  The lecture will begin at 3:00 p.m. at 635 Commonwealth Avenue in Room 101.  All attendees are invited to a reception following the lecture at 4:00pm in the Setterberg lounge on the 2nd floor.  THE EVENT IS FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

Elizabeth George to Speak at Friends of the Libraries Annual Meeting

The Howard Gotlieb Archival Research Center will host its Friends of the Libraries Annual Meeting, featuring noted mystery author Elizabeth George, this afternoon.  An exhibition of Ms. George’s archives will be opened to the public, and she will be speaking about her work, Careless In Red. The lecture will be held at Metcalf Hall, 775 Commonwealth Avenue. The evening begins at 5:30 PM and is open to the public and free to BU students. All Because of the Color of His Skin

The Boston University Howard Gotlieb Archival Research Center presents renowned Dylan expert Christopher Ricks. He will discuss race and its relations to the art of Bob Dylan in his lecture “All Because of the Color of his Skin.” The lecture will take place on Tuesday, April 7 at 7:00 PM in Metcalf Hall, which is located on the 2nd Floor of the GSU, 775 Commonwealth Ave., Boston.
