A new study that finds e-cigarettes might be encouraging teens to use conventional cigarettes is confirming the fears of public health officials, but one Boston expert says there’s still no proof that e-cigarettes are the gateway to tobacco…

Expert quote:

“The greatest concern would be if these serve as a gateway to tobacco use. But there’s no evidence that that’s happening… It’s very plausible kids who smoke are being attracted to electronic cigarettes possibly because they actually want to cut down and quit. That’s an equal possibility.”
