New Cardiologist Appointed To Boston Medical Center, Boston University School Of Medicine

(Boston)-Newton resident Jacob Joseph, MBBS, MD, FACC, has been appointed to the position of cardiologist in the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine at Boston Medical Center (BMC), and an associate professor of medicine at Boston University School of Medicine (BUSM).

Joseph received his medical degree from the University of Kerala, India, and completed his residency in internal medicine and fellowships in cardiology at the University of Missouri in Columbia and the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.

Joseph’s clinical interests include cardiomypathies and systolic and diastolic heart failure. His research interests include cardiovascular medicine in reference to the mechanisms and treatment of diastolic heart failure.

Prior to his appointments, Joseph is the director of the Heart Failure Program at the VA Boston Healthcare System. He has published over 40 articles, has been a contributor to several books and is currently editing a book on heart failure research, and is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology as well as a member of the Southern Society of Clinical Investigation, the American Heart Association and the Heart Failure Society of America.
