New Endocrinologist Appointed to Boston Medical Center

(Boston)- Cambridge resident Sara Pietras, M.D., has been appointed to the position of attending physician, inpatient diabetes service in the Section of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Nutrition at Boston Medical Center (BMC).

Pietras received her medical degree from Dartmouth Medical School in Hanover, NH and completed her residency in internal medicine at Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, Mass. Pietras completed her fellowship in endocrinology at Boston University Medical Center.

“We are delighted that Dr. Pietras will be joining the staff of Boston Medical Center,” said Shalender Bhasin, M.D., chief of the Section of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Nutrition at BMC. “Dr. Pietras’ expertise in intensive insulin therapy in hospitalized patients will contribute to the success and growth of our world class interdisciplinary diabetes program.”

Pietras has been a contributor to three medical articles, including articles on preoperative and postoperative management of the bariatric surgical patient and the relationships between DNA incorporation, mutant frequency and deletion mutations of genes.
Pietras is a member of the American College of Physicians, the Endocrine Society, and the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists.
