BU School of Medicine Professor Appointed to ICS Hall of Fame

Boston — Kazem M. Azadzoi, M.D., a professor of surgery/urology, and pathology at Boston University School of Medicine (BUSM), was recently appointed to the ICS Hall of Fame at their 35th annual meeting in Montreal, Canada. Azadzoi, who is also the research director of surgery/urology for the Boston Veteran’s Administration (VA) Healthcare System and a health scientist for the Boston VA Research Institute, was honored with this recognition for his presentation entitled “Role of ischemia and oxidative stress in bladder neurodegeneration.”

Azadzoi received his medical degree from Kabul University Medical School in Afghanistan and a Master’s degree in physiology from BUSM. He completed his post-graduate training at BUSM and the VA Boston Healthcare System.

Azadzoi is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Urological Society, the International Society for Impotence Research and the Urological Research Society.

Azadzoi has received numerous awards, including being named in Who’s Who in America 2006 edition.
