Interactive Atlases - Check out these interactive 2D and 3D models of the human body. Main focus is on the brain, organs of the chest, and the knee. A 'must see' for students and others interested in brain and body anatomy.
Note: Although there is MUCH content available on the website, some 'movies' are only viewable by buying a CD ROM. Also, we have found that other movies on the site do not run well through a browser. To view these movies (e.g., those highlighted on this page), first save the movie to your computer (for PC's, right-click the highlighted link and choose "Save Target As"). The Whole Brain Atlas - Have you ever wanted to see inside someone's head? Here's your chance. Take a visual trip through a real brain (scanned with PET, MRI or other). Supurb neuroimaging website. Includes aging, Alzheimer's Disease, Parkinson's Disease brains, and others.
N.I.H. - United States Dept. of Health and Human Services, National Institutes of Health. A comprehensive site of U.S. Government-funded research - from application forms to research reports and health information. If you live in the U.S., this is where some of your taxes go, so get your money's worth and check it out. (And yes, even if our laboratory were not partially funded by N.I.H., we'd recommend them...)
Internet Mental Health - Their stated purpose is to "freely share whatever information we have on mental health with the world". Information on diagnosis, treatment, and research of common mental disorders. Check out their electronic "Magazine" for news, articles, and stories of recovery.
Neuroguide.com - "A searchable and browsable index of neuroscience resources available on the Internet: Neurobiology, neurology, neurosurgery, psychiatry, psychology, cognitive science sites and information on human neurological diseases."
The Foundation Center - Funding information for research. The "most authoritative source of information on private philanthropy in the United States".
