Tom Laudate, M.A.
Graduate Student, Clinical Psychology

Education:

1995 - B.A., with honors, University of Hartford.
1999 - M.A. Boston University.

Current Project:

Working with Dr. Cronin-Golomb, investigating visual abilities in people with Alzheimer's Disease and other dementias.

Background:

I was the Laboratory Technician Coordinator (and previously Research Technician) for the Vision & Cognition Laboratory, 2001-2006.

Prior to that, I was a Research Assistant at the Memory & Cognition Laboratory at Brandeis University.  I worked with Dr. Patricia Tun investigating the role of background noise on memory in older adults.  I also studied divided attention and memory in a cross-cultural study.  I worked with Dr. Art Wingfield investigating fast speech and memory.

And before that, I had approximately three years of Clinical Psychology experience working as a counselor on inpatient psychiatric units.

Hobbies & Pastimes:

Graduate school - currently the most obvious use of my time.

Webpage design - including the site you're looking at now.

Black & White photography - sometimes the old fashioned way, with film, but sadly more and more digital.

Racquetball - perhaps one of the most fun sports ever.

Listening to live music - Boston is a great area for hearing original and talented musicians.
Just a brief list of the lesser-known musicians I look out for:
       Peter Mulvey (Tour Dates),
       Jonatha Brooke,
       Jah Spirit,
Jen Trynin, very rarely performs her music any more, but occasionally performs in the band Loveless.
She has written a book about her wild ride in the music business called Everything I'm Cracked Up To Be.
