The Boston University NROTC battalion is dedicated to the professional development of midshipmen who are motivated to graduate from college and receive a comission as either an ensign in the United States Navy or a second lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps. Its midshipmen take an active role in the shaping of the battalion with the aid of a staff of comissioned officers and enlisted men and women of the US Navy and Marine Corps. The battalion offers a multitude of activities and events to each midshipmen, many of which are outlined by this site. Particpation in NROTC also requires a student to take a course in naval science each semester to help professional development and build camraderie. The battalion also meets once each wednesday afternoon from four to six PM for identical purposes.
