Michelle Sander

Research Interests: Sander’s research focuses on optical material interactions to develop novel laser sources in the infrared and mid-infrared wavelength regime. Compact fiber lasers and integrated microphotonic systems are pursued for applications in communications, biomedical diagnostics and treatment, frequency metrology, environmental sensing and spectroscopy.  The research is interdisciplinary and combines various fields of optics and photonics with semiconductor physics and nanotechnology.
