Dr. Grinstaff is the Inaugural Holder of the Distinguished Professor of Translational Research, and a Professor of Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science and Engineering, and Medicine at BU and BUSM. He is highly experienced in the management of interdisciplinary research projects and centers involving multiple collaborators from the areas of science, engineering, and clinical research. Early in his career he was awarded the ACS Nobel Laureate Signature Award, and most recently the Edward M. Kennedy Award for Health Care Innovation. He is a Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors. Dr. Grinstaff is an author or co-author of more than 200 peer-reviewed manuscripts, an inventor or co-inventor of more than 200 issued patents or pending applications, and presenter of more than 275 oral communications. He is also the co-inventor of Abraxane, one of the few FDA approved nano medicines.
