OPT-CHF - Principal Investigator: Michael Klein, MD

Oxypurinol Therapy for CHF. Multi-center, randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled study designed to demonstrate the efficacy and safety of oral oxypurinol. Measures of clinical efficacy as well as clinical outcomes will be assessed as a composite endpoint in this trial. Enrollment criteria are LV ejection fraction </= 40%, and prior hospitalization or ER visit in last 18 months for worsening heart failure. NYHA class III-IV.
