Bachelors Degree Study Students in the Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or the Bachelor of Science in Computer Systems Engineering have several technical electives during their junior and senior years. Courses such as SC560, Introduction to Photonics, should be taken to explore the field of photonics. Interested students can then take SC563, Fiber Optics, or SC570, Lasers, as a second elective. Students are encouraged to pursue projects, senior capstone design projects, senior honors theses and UROP (Undergraduate Research Opportunities) within the photonics area. There are also some student employment opportunities in the various research labs of photonics faculty.
