Mr. Kheireddine Bekkai holds an MA in the Instruction of French as a Foreign Language from La Sorbonne in Paris, France. He also holds two BAs, one in Applied Foreign Languages with a focus on Arabic, French and German, and the other in Translation and Interpretation in Arabic, French and German.  Mr. Bekkai is a Senior Lecturer and has taught all levels of Arabic, including a course in literature and several directed studies pertaining to translation, media and literature. He will be teaching a new course on translation in Fall 2012. He is also a French Part-Time Lecturer in the Department of Romance Studies at Boston University.

Mr. Bekkai previously taught Arabic at Tulane University and French at Dillard University out of New Orleans,  Louisiana. Since teaching at Boston  University he has been a panelist and moderator in many panel discussions and talks hosted by local organizations regarding the issues of identity and immigration. He has therefore collaborated with faculty outside of MLCL on these aforementioned topics.  Mr. Bekkai is also interested in media studies and journalism, literature, and international relations, particularly as it pertains to the dialogue between Western societies and the Arab world.
