Short Biography of Mr. Mike Flanagan

Mike is Sr. Manufacturing Engineering Manager at Aspect Medical Systems. Aspect's mission is to improve people's lives by helping medical professionals deliver the best possible patient care through innovative brain monitoring technologies. Mike's team strives to introduce new sensor products, improve quality, and increase capacity while continuously reducing costs.

Previously, Mike was a Principal Engineer at Instrumentation
Laboratory. He has over 15 years of engineering and managerial
experience in the medical device industry, including Ciba Corning,
Chiron, and Bayer Diagnostics. He has served as Instrumentation Lab's Manufacturing Engineering Manager and managed the geographic transfer and manufacturing ramp-up of the highly successful GEM Cartridge family of products.

He is particularly experienced and interested in concurrent product
development, the simultaneous development of products, processes, and supply chains to create profitable new products. He focuses on the product development / manufacturing interface and the application of Six Sigma tools to improve quality. He worked for 3 years in the Industrial Gases industry, focusing on operations modeling, instrumentation, and control systems engineering. He received his S.B. in Chemical Engineering from MIT in 1985 and his M.S. in Manufacturing Engineering from BU in 1997.
