Short Biography of Dr. Donald E. Bossi

Dr. Donald E. Bossi was previously President and CEO of Aegis Semiconductor. Prior to that position, Dr. Bossi was President of the Active Components Group for JDS Uniphase Corporation. JDS Uniphase is the leading supplier of fiber-optic components and modules to worldwide communications markets. Dr. Bossi joined JDS Uniphase in January 1994. Prior toÊthis assignment, he served in a variety of operations, product development and general management roles within JDS Uniphase's Electro-optic Products Division in Windsor, Connecticut.

Dr. Bossi holds B.S., M.S., E.E., and Ph.D. degrees, all in Electrical Engineering, from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is a member of the Optical Society of America and the IEEE Lasers and Electro-Optics Society. Prior to joining JDS Uniphase, Dr. Bossi spent eight years at RCA Laboratories, MIT Lincoln Laboratory, and United Technologies Research Center developing semiconductor optoelectronic devices and circuits for fiber-optic applications.
