Short Biography of Dr. Kit Ausschnitt

Dr. Kit Ausschnitt is a Senior Technical Staff Member in the IBM Microelectronics Division. He is currently responsible for the development and implementation of lithography control systems in the Center for Nanoelectronics, IBM's new 300mm semiconductor development and manufacturing facility in East Fishkill, New York. His active areas of interest span lithography, metrology and advanced process control as associated with nanofabrication. His previous work experience has included both technical and management positions at various companies, including RCA, Bell Laboratories, Perkin-Elmer, GCA, and Shipley.

Dr. Ausschnitt is the author of numerous publications and has been granted over 25 U.S. patents. He also serves on the National Research Council's Board of Assessors of NIST, where he is chairman of the Precision Engineering Division panel. Dr. Ausschnitt holds a B.S. degree from Princeton University (1968), M.S. degree from the University of Pennsylvania (1970), and Sc.D. degree from MIT (1976), all in electrical engineering.
