Short Biography of Guillermo J. Tearney
Guillermo J. Tearney, M.D. Ph.D. is an Associate Professor in Pathology at the Harvard Medical School, an Assistant Physicist at the Wellman Center for Photomedicine, and an affiliated faculty member of the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology (HST). Dr. Tearney is additionally the Optical Diagnostics Program Leader at the Center for Integration of Medicine and Innovative Technology (CIMIT). The research interests of Dr. Tearney are primarily focused on the development and validation of non-invasive optical methods for disease diagnosis, including optical coherence tomography (OCT), endoscopic confocal microscopy, speckle imaging, and fluorescence and Raman spectroscopy. Dr. Tearney has published over 110 peer-reviewed articles and his work has been featured on the cover of a variety of prestigious journals, such as Science, Circulation, Gastroenterology, and the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.
