I would like to matriculate. What are the requirements for the application?

The following credentials are required:

  1. Complete application
  2. $65 application fee
  3. Complete official academic records of all college work attempted
  4. Two letters of recommendation
  5. Official GRE score, sent directly from the testing center to the College of Engineering Graduate Programs Office (use code 3087, no dept. code is necessary).
  6. Statement of purpose (essay)
  7. Résumé (optional)

What courses are available next semester?

Can I register for a Distance Learning course if I have not applied to the MS program?

Yes. Students are permitted to take up to 3 courses (12 credits) as a non-degree student. However, non-degree students are encouraged to formally apply to the MS program after completing their second course.

How do I set up a Distance Learning site?

After receiving approval from your company to setup a distance site, please contact the Program Office at (617) 353-2943.

I have an exam coming up. How do I take a test?

There are several ways to take a test, depending on the type of exam. You can either find a coworker or advisor to proctor, take the exam via video proctoring or come to campus.

What does a typical program look like?

Individual programs vary, depending on the interests of the student, and academic and career goals. The large number of distance learning courses offered, as well as the flexibility of the program, allow students to design a program with they’re interests and goals in mind. Please refer to the Program Planning Sheet for an outline of Core courses, Concentration Areas, and Electives.

I am interested in the MS/MBA joint program. How can I get more information about the MBA portion of the degree?

I will miss class due to business travel. Can I obtain a copy of the lecture?

Yes. With advanced notice, you can receive a copy of the lecture in your choice of formats:

-Videotape
-Streaming video (Real Media link)

Many students find the streaming video link to be very convenient when traveling because past lectures are easily viewed through an internet connection (these are not real-time). With advanced notice, we will email you the URL the day after the missed class, allowing you time to view the lecture before the next class.

Does my tuition include textbooks and materials?

No, your tuition only covers the course.
