Areas of Interest:
Dr. Hauser began his professional career with the Western Electric
Company where he designed parts handling machinery for assembly
of electromechanical components. Upon completion of his doctorate
in mechanical engineering, he joined AT&T Bell Laboratories
where he worked initially on tools and systems for installing, monitoring,
and maintaining telephones outside of the plant. He has been a department
director for the design of telephone transmission equipment and
has led cross-organizational teams developing processes and standards
for new product introduction. At Boston University he teaches courses
at the interface of engineering and business, in particular, how
