The key to staying warm in Boston in the winter is dressing correctly. All of the buildings, stores, malls, buses, cars, subways and public facilites are comfortably heated.  However, it will get quite cold outside - below zero. Knowing how to dress and having the right clothes in your wardrobe can make the difference between being comfortable and feeling like you are freezing. or between staying healthy and catching a cold!

Below are links to some of the best places to buy winter clothing.  All of them are national chains with stores in the Boston area. Sears, the first mail order company, sells good-quality, durable goods for resonable prices. Target and K-Mart are "discount" stores that feature high volume and low prices.  This is where most Americans get their clothes. Macy's is the nation's biggest department store chain, and Neiman Marcus is a more up-scale (fancy and expensive) chain from New York.

Imagine the following situation: You have been givem $500 to buy winter clothes. You must buy all of the items on the list below, from any of the six web sites. Make a note of which store you bought each item from, and how much it cost. Any money you have left over you can spend on entertainment: eating out, DVDs, or concerts.
